Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The UCAS Tariff is a way of allocating points to qualifications. Not all qualifications attract UCAS Tariff points for various reasons. The university or college you’re interested in may accept your qualifications as an appropriate entry route, even if they don’t attract UCAS Tariff points.

You need to register with UCAS and complete the relevant application – there’s quite a lot to fill in but you don’t have to do it all at once. We’ve got lots of information on filling in your application.

Different courses have different application deadlines. Before you can send your application, you’ll need to pay an application fee: If you’re applying to study in 2022: £22 for a single choice, or £26.50 for more than one choice. If you’re applying to study in 2023: £22.50 for a single choice, or £27 for more than one choice.

You can read comprehensive advice on writing a personal statement from our blog post.

Entry requirements vary between universities and colleges and if you are unsure you meet a university/college’s criteria, it is best to contact their admissions team or a counselor for further guidance.

UCAS will process it and send you a welcome email confirming the application has been sent to your university choices.
